In accordance with Section 4(1)(b) of the Right to Information Act, 2005, the details of information to be voluntarily disclosed to the public by Alamkode Grama Panchayat, Malappuram District, are given below.

1. Organisation, Functions and Duties

Alamkode Grama Panchayat is a Local Self Government Institution functioning under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994. The major responsibilities of the Panchayat include providing basic infrastructure and civic services to the public, ensuring social justice, and implementing various development and welfare programmes.

2. Powers and Duties of Officers

Panchayat President:
The President is the Chairperson of the Panchayat Administrative Committee.

Panchayat Secretary:
The Secretary is the Executive Officer responsible for the administrative affairs, official records and statutory functions of the Panchayat.

Assistant Secretary / Superintendent:
Responsible for the supervision of the administrative activities of the Panchayat.

Assistant Engineer (LSGD):
Responsible for the technical activities, construction projects, preparation of estimates, technical inspections and other engineering-related works of the Panchayat.

3. Procedure Followed in Decision Making

The decisions of the Panchayat are taken in a lawful, transparent and participatory manner.

Grama Sabha:
Ensures public participation at the ward level and discusses the development needs and priorities of the local community.

Panchayat Administrative Committee:
Considers the recommendations and proposals received from the Grama Sabhas and takes decisions regarding various projects and activities in accordance with the applicable laws and rules.

4. Services and Rules & Regulations

The activities of Alamkode Grama Panchayat are carried out in accordance with the following laws, rules and guidelines:

  • Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994
  • Kerala Panchayat Raj (Building) Rules
  • Various Government Orders and Circulars issued by the Government
  • Guidelines issued by the Local Self Government Department
