Administrative structure

1. Elected Body (Governing Council)

The elected body comprises Ward Members chosen directly by the citizens.

  • President: The executive head of the Panchayat.
  • Vice President: Performs executive duties in the absence of the President.
  • Standing Committees:
    • Finance Standing Committee: Handles finance, taxation, and budgeting (Chaired by the Vice President).
    • Development Standing Committee: Manages agriculture, animal husbandry, small industries, and development planning.
    • Welfare Standing Committee: Oversees SC/ST welfare, women and child development, and social security.
    • Health & Education Standing Committee: Manages public health, sanitation, education, and drinking water initiatives.
  • Ward Members: Elected representatives governing individual wards.

2. Administrative Wing

Permanent administrative staff manage daily operations and policy implementation.

  • Panchayat Secretary: The Chief Executive Officer of the Panchayat.
  • Assistant Secretary / Superintendent: Oversees office administration and official records.
  • Accountant: Manages financial transactions, audit compliance, and budget accounts.
  • Senior / Junior Clerks: Handle certificates, tax collection, and public application processing.
  • Office Attendants: Support routine administrative functions.

3. Engineering & Line Departments (Technical Wing)

  • Assistant Engineer (AE): Heads infrastructure projects, technical sanctioning, and public works.
  • Overseers: Inspect and supervise road, bridge, and building constructions.
  • Transferred Department Officers: Sectoral officers from Krishi Bhavan, Primary Health Centres (PHC), and Public Schools transferred to the Panchayat's administrative control.

4. Participatory Institutions

  • Grama Sabha: The foundational body consisting of all registered voters in each ward.
  • Kudumbashree (CDS): The micro-finance and women-empowerment network executing grassroots development.
  • Ward Development Committees: Local planning groups that identify needs at the ward level.
